Pretty cakes from Carol Deacon's book "Party cakes for children"

Pretty cakes from Carol Deacon's book Party cakes for childrenThis book would never have been put together had it not been for the important little people behind the scenes.. The introduction section answers many of the basic questions about working with sugarpaste which I hope you'll find helpful. Then, with the cakes themselves, I have tried to cover as many children's interests and hobbies as I can, to make that annual dilemma of "What shall I make this year?" that little bit easier, I've given short cuts or alternatives wherever possible and even suggest where it might be best to place the candles on your cake.
Some of the cakes are more of a challenge than others, some are so easy they can he made by a child alone or with a little help from a grown up. But whether you're a child of six or sixty I hope you'll be inspired enough lo pick up that rolling pin and get cracking!
